Airport Road Closed at Pullman-Moscow Highway May 8

PULLMAN, Wash. — Those traveling to the Washington State University
campus’ east side will not be able to use Airport Road for at least three

Airport Road will be closed to all but local traffic from SR270, the
Pullman-Moscow Highway, to the airport terminal from May 8 through Aug.

WSU employees and others who used the road to access Grimes Way should
plan to enter campus at the Stadium Way intersection.

The project is part of a city of Pullman project started March 20 to reconstruct
Airport Road from the Moscow-Pullman Highway to the O’Boyd Road along
WSU campus’ east side. The $3 million project also includes road
reconstruction on Terre View Drive from Airport Road to Northwood Drive.

Gary Wells, of WSU Facilities Operations, said traffic will be able to use
Airport Road for access to the airport only through Sunday, May 7. On
Monday, the airport traffic route returns to the seven-mile detour route out of
Pullman on SR270 to the Airport Road entrance near Moscow.

The Terre View portion of the ring road around Pullman’s north side is
scheduled for May-July 2001. Funding for the full project is from federal, state
and county highway funds, and local gas tax revenue. WSU gave rights of
way for the project.
