WSU Recognizes Donors, Volunteers at WSU Foundation Annual Meeting

PULLMAN, Wash. — More than 65 major donors to Washington State University including
five who have given $1 million or more will be recognized during the WSU Foundation 20th
Annual Meeting of Members Sept. 23-25.
Some 500 foundation members — donors and volunteers — will arrive on the Pullman campus
for meetings and events.
Nearly $43 million from private donors was contributed to WSU in fiscal year 1998-99, which
ended June 30.
“This is the time of year when we celebrate the incredible generosity of Cougars,” said Greg
Sheridan, associate vice president for University Advancement “When our faculty, staff and
students interact with these individuals while they are on campus, I hope they take a moment to
thank them for everything they do for our university.”
In addition to attending the annual meeting and the Foundation board of trustees meeting,
participants will attend committee meetings, special presentations, a luncheon and a recognition
dinner gala in WSU’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum Friday night. The gala will recognize
contributors to the University of $100,000 or more, as well pay tribute to volunteer service.
Dave Dunlop, former senior development director at Cornell University, will lead a seminar
during the board meeting on Friday: “How You Can Help WSU: Trustees As Natural Partners.”
A workshop on family asset management and estate planning is open to the public from 4:30-6
p.m. in the CUB ballroom on Thursday, Sept. 23.
