PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University biochemistry professor Gerald Hazelbauer will present the school’s 65th Distinguished Faculty Address Thursday, Feb. 25.
The 7:30 p.m. public address is set for Webster Physical Sciences Building, Room 16.
In his address, “Knowing Where You Are and Where You’ve Been: How Bacteria Sense and Remember,” Hazelbauer will discuss his work on how organisms sense their environment and are able to take appropriate action when stimulated.
A WSU scientist since 1981, Hazelbauer is an authority on sensory transduction in bacteria.
The Distinguished Faculty Address series honors a WSU faculty member by inviting the individual to address the community on a topic related to his/her academic work. It began in 1958 as the Invited Address series.
