RICHLAND, Wash. – Expanded space for the nursing program at Washington State University Tri-Cities and tuition rates for students in WSU’s Global Campus are on the agenda for the WSU Board of Regents meeting here Thursday and Friday.
The meeting will begin with committee agendas at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Consolidated Information Center, Room 212, at WSU Tri-Cities, 2770 Crimson Way, Richland. Following those sessions, the regents will attend a community reception 5–6 p.m. at the future site of the nursing program, a vacant retail building at 1268 Lee Blvd., Richland.
The board meeting will continue at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, in the CIC building at WSU Tri-Cities.
Among action items for the board is a decision to lease 10,000 square feet of space at one of Kadlec Regional Medical Center’s downtown Richland facilities to house the WSU Tri-Cities nursing program. The renovated space will have more room and be equipped with state-of-the-art simulation labs.
The regents also are expected to vote on a flat fee for students enrolled exclusively in online courses through the WSU Global Campus. If approved, Global Campus students who are not resident on a physical WSU campus would pay a flat rate per credit hour for online courses within a program of study.
The board also will hear an informational report on schematic designs for the new Clean Technology Laboratory Building on the WSU Pullman campus.
At 10:30 a.m. Friday – following the business meeting – WSU Regent Fran Forgette and WSU President Elson S. Floyd will announce new donors providing financial support to the Tri-Cities Nursing Partnership. The news conference will be held at WSU Tri-Cities in the West Building Atrium, 2710 Crimson Way.
