Beasley offers venue for some displaced events

A number of events traditionally held in the student union building are displaced for the next two years due to CUB renewal plans.

To accommodate the need for event space, Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum is offering small-scale space for meetings, banquets, conferences, breakout rooms and luncheons, as well as large event spaces.

Many events already have relocated to Beasley Coliseum, including: Alive! new student programs, the Plateau Center conference, the state of the university address, and the President’s Associates dinner in 2006; and the College of Science poster competition and alumni reunion in 2007.

Scheduling dates begin in May and extend through August 2008, when the CUB will reopen.

“We are willing to accommodate anything,” said Leo Udy, director of Beasley Coliseum. “The Beasley is a viable option.”
