Ultimate Cougar fan takes lonely, but bold stand, cheering
for WSU in tonight’s NIT semifinals playoff against Witchita State
NEW YORK – Washington State University men’s basketball continues to prepare for the National Invitation Semifinals at Madison Square Garden.
 
The Cougars face Wichita State in the first semifinal Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT). The game can be seen on ESPN2.
 
The Cougars have been in New York since Saturday, doing their part to `Wave the Flag.’
 
While in the city, they’ve had the opportunity to practice at Columbia University, visit Rucker Park, tour the city (including Central Park and Rockefeller Center) and step outside their hotel to explore Times Square.
 
Monday the NIT held a media luncheon and press conference. Head coach Ken Bone and juniors Klay Thompson and Marcus Capers participated in the media event. The winner of Tuesday’s game will face the winner between Colorado and Alabama, both No. 1 seeds from their respective regions, Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. at Madison Square Garden. That game will also be shown on ESPN2.
