PULLMAN – Voting will end at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, for the CUB Canned Food Drive and Sculpture Contest, sponsored by the Compton Union Building.

Each semester the CUB Community Group conducts a service project in which CUB community members (those who work in the CUB) take part, said Amanda Camden, assistant director, CUB Operations & Event Services.

For this project, teams collected cans of food by Nov. 4 and sculptures using the cans had to be completed by 5 p.m. Nov. 5. The public is participating in judging the sculptures via a “penny vote” – giving pennies to the favorite sculpture.

Cans of food and penny vote proceeds will go to the Pullman Child Welfare Food Bank.

A “People’s Choice Award” will be presented during the CUB Community Crock Pot Cook Off at noon Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the junior ballroom. The cook off is a potluck for CUB community members; favorite dishes will be judged and shared.

The teams competing are:

•Lower Level, Union Services, International Center, and Center for Civic Engagement.

•1st Floor, CUB Administration and CUB vendors.

•3rd Floor, Center for Fraternity & Sorority Life, Student Involvement & Leadership Development.

•4th Floor, Multicultural Student Services and the Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center.
