RICHLAND – Students huddle around the patient, checking vitals and listening to the shortness of breath. Suddenly the pulse is gone, and one student climbs on top of the patient and begins resuscitation efforts.
This is part of nursing simulations at WSU Tri-Cities. Students learn on a simulated patient that can be programmed to cough, wheeze and present other emergency situations. Students say this hands-on training is helping them prepare for their future careers.
