VANCOUVER – Cougar alumni from all campuses who own or operate a business in southwest Washington or the Portland area are invited to join the Cougar Business Alliance. The first meeting of the new regional organization will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the Cougar-owned Dodge City Bar & Grill, 4520 East Fourth Plain Boulevard.
Part of WSU Vancouver’s role in the community is to help Cougar alumni connect with WSU and fellow alumni. The alliance will look for ways alumni businesses can work together, refer one another and form partnerships. It will be a resource to WSU Vancouver students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members who are looking for Cougar goods and services in the area.
“We discovered that some business networking was happening between alumni already,” said Lindsay Herling, assistant director of development and alumni relations at WSU Vancouver. “Cougar attorneys were referring Cougar accountants. A Cougar moving company packed up and moved our new basketball coach to Pullman.
“Providing a formal venue for this kind of networking and referral can help every Cougar business,” she said.
