PULLMAN – The WSU Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) will hold a series of events for Civic Engagement Week – Changing our World: Cougs Take Action – April 19-23.
The highlight of Civic Engagement Week includes a day of events on Wednesday, April 21, featuring Libuse Binder, author of “10 Ways to Change the World in Your 20s.”
On April 21, Binder is the keynote speaker at the third annual Cougs Care Celebration, which takes place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Cougs Care celebrates the accomplishments of WSU students who serve in communities across the state and honors the Excellence in Civic Engagement award recipients, to be announced during the event.
A book signing, sponsored by the WSU Bookie, will follow at 1:30-2:30 p.m., where copies of Binder’s book will be available for purchase.
These events take place in the CUB junior ballroom and are open to the public.
Binder will hold a workshop on “Environmental Action” 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Olympia Hall, the new environmentally focused residence hall.
The CCE promotes student learning through engagement in community service, service learning and contributing to the development of civically engaged and socially responsible graduates of WSU. Each year more than 4,000 students get involved with their community through the CCE.
