“Throughout the past year we have had ongoing discussions with our partners at Qwest Field on continuing our relationship,” said Sterk. “However, the way the 2010 nonconference and Pac-10 schedules came together, playing a game in Seattle this year was not feasible.
“We have tremendous support from fans and alumni for our annual game in Seattle, which over the past few years has become known as the Cougar Gridiron Classic presented by Washington’s Beef Producers,” Sterk continued. “While we will miss not playing in Qwest Field this year, we have finalized arrangements with Qwest to return Sept. 10, 2011, when the Cougars will face UNLV. Going forward we look to continue playing a home game in Seattle as the schedule allows.”
