Three Forks Bike Club and WSU Wellbeing gear up for clinics

PULLMAN – WSU Wellbeing staff and members of the Three Forks Bike Club will offer a 10-week long Do-It-Yourself Bike clinic series beginning Thursday, Feb. 4 and continuing every Thursday for 10 weeks.

Each clinic will be held in the WSU-Fix It Bike Shop in the Hollingbery Fieldhouse Annex.

The two groups offer students and community members access to the Green Bike program, free maintenance clinics, group rides and bike polo tournaments. The DIY Bike clinics will be a series of more in-depth workshops with curriculum that covers all major components of the bicycle. Participants will learn about topics such as brakes, fittings and even how to build a bike.

According to Three Forks Bike Club member Reese Cousins, the club hopes to bring cyclists together in the community.

“Armed with a better understanding of the bicycle, more people will have the confidence to commute by bicycle, take longer rides and take new riders with them knowing they can do the necessary repairs if needed,” he said.
