National Zoo researcher to talk about elephants

PULLMAN – An elephant expert and WSU alumna will present the 2010 Robert Jonas Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in the CUB auditorium.
 
Janine Brown, of the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, is an international expert on elephant conservation who earned her graduate degrees from WSU in the 1980s. She will speak about “What I have learned in 25 years of studying the biology of elephants.”
 
 
Her s visit is sponsored by the Zoology Club, School for Biological Sciences, Department of Animal Sciences and Center for Reproductive Biology.
 
The Robert Jonas Lecture was established in memory of professor Robert “Bob” Jonas, who taught biology and wildlife management at WSU for 25 years, to host speakers to discuss conservation and environmental topics.
