PULLMAN, Wash. – President Obama signed the American Taxpayer Relief Act on Jan. 2, and WSU Payroll Services has installed the new federal withholding tax tables.For many WSU employees the new withholding rates are slightly lower than the 2012 tax withholding rates. This is offset by a 2 percent increase in the employee withholding rate for Social Security tax also known as OASI.
In addition, some Jan. 10 paychecks might include a change in medical premium amounts, depending on what plans employees chose. Also, new flex and dependent care accounts start on Jan 10.
