RFP Open One More Week for 2013 Smith Teaching and Learning Grants

WSU faculty members with innovative ideas can submit proposals through Jan. 15, 2013 for grants from the Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning Endowment.

Up to eight grants for $6,000 will be awarded in April.

Early-career faculty are particularly encouraged to apply. Recipients of Smith Grants in the past five years are not eligible to receive awards in 2013.

Proposals consisting of 2-3 page projects overviews are sought that address three issues:

Active Learning in Large Classes

Documenting Student Achievement of Intended Learning Outcomes in Lower-Division UCORE Courses

Integrating Sustainability Issues into Lower-Division UCORE Courses

The Endowment was established by alumni and friends to honor President Emeritus Sam Smith and his wife, Pat. Smith’s passion was, and continues to be, creating new ways to educate students.
