PULLMAN, Wash. – The stylistic diversity and beauty of 20th century wind quintet repertoire will be explored by the Solstice Wind Quintet, a Washington State University faculty ensemble, at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, in Kimbrough Concert Hall.

The concert is part of the WSU School of Music Faculty Artist Series and proceeds benefit the school’s scholarship fund.

Tickets cost $10 general admission, $5 non-WSU students and those aged 60 and older, and free for WSU students with ID. Tickets will be available in the Kimbrough lobby one hour before concert time.

The four pieces to be performed range from the neo-classical “Le Tombeau de Couperin” by Maurice Ravel, to the breezy scherzo by Eugene Bozza, to the angularity of Paul Hindemith’s quintet, to John Harbison’s masterful timbral shapings.
