PULLMAN, Wash. University Recreation (UREC) will host a free lunch and brief program to celebrate the late John Tarnai’s service and to name the faculty/staff seat on its board in his memory. The buffet style lunch will begin at noon Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Student Recreation Center (SRC) 245. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 5, to Janette Matanane at j.matanane@wsu.edu.
Tarnai, former director of the Social and Economic Sciences Research Center at Washington State University, served for more than 11 years on the UREC board. A frequent visitor at the SRC, he logged thousands of miles during his workouts and inspired others by his active healthy living.
