China and the Global Economy
What role does China play in the economy of the developing world? What are the prospects for future trade relations with China?
Susan Whiting has conducted extensive research in China and has contributed to studies of governance, fiscal reform, and non-governmental organizations through the World Bank, and other entities. Professor Whiting’s current research interests include property rights in land, the role of law and courts in economic transition, as well as the politics of fiscal reform in transition economies.
Susan Whiting is associate professor of political science at the University of Washington, and specializes in Chinese and comparative politics, with an emphasis on the political economy of development.
