Information Services will be addressing a security issue in Microsoft Exchange on Thursday, Aug. 2. IS will temporarily remove the Outlook Web Application (OWA) feature that allows users to preview the content of some email attachments (.doc, .dot, .rtf, .xls, .ppt, .pps, .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, & .pptx) from within their web browser via connect.wsu.edu.
Users will still be able to download and view attachments as usual; this feature will be unaffected by this temporary change. Once a patch is released that resolves the security issue, it will be applied and tested in our environment and IS will re-enable the feature.
