PULLMAN, Wash. Three employees and three students are among the recipients of the 2012 Excellence in Civic Engagement Awards presented by the Washington State University Center for Civic Engagement. The awards recognize a commitment to learning through campus-community engagement.
This year’s recipients are: WSU Pullman students Isaiah Adona of Tacoma, Wash., and Amanda Chapman of Sammamish, Wash.; WSU online student Blayne Amson of Forks, Wash.; student group Sigma Kappa sorority; faculty member Pauline Sameshima, Department of Teaching and Learning; community partners Randy and Rhonda Kent, R.E.A.C.H. Inc; campus partner Lorena O’English, social sciences reference and instruction librarian with WSU Libraries; and distinguished service recipient Christine K. Oakley, associate clinical professor with WSU International Programs and sociology.
These and others who have demonstrated a commitment to service and learning will be honored at the fifth annual CCE Cougs Care Recognition Event at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, in the CUB junior ballroom.
