PULLMAN, Wash. – A hilarious, outrageous, empowering and heartbreaking benefit production of “The Vagina Monologues” will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 9-11, in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre.
Hosted by the student organization V-Day WSU, the award-winning play educates about gender violence via stories of sadness, humor and inspiration.
Tickets will be for sale for $10 at a table in the CUB 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday until Feb. 10. They will be sold for $12 at the door. For more information, contact V-Day WSU Graduate Coordinator joan.Osa Oviawe at vdaywsu@wsu.edu or see Facebook.
Proceeds benefit local and global organizations. In the past 10 years, V-Day WSU has raised more than $70,000 for groups such as Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse (ATVP) and for women and girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This year, attendees of “The Vagina Monologues” can donate non-perishable goods, used cell phones and feminine products to an ATVP donation drive at the door and be entered in a raffle to receive prizes.
“I hope people who come to see ‘The Vagina Monologues’ feel entertained and empowered, and possibly become inspired to become activists for the elimination of violence against women and girls,” said Oviawe.
