The Association for Faculty Women is seeking nominations for outstanding graduate students at both the masters and PhD levels. The top students completing their degrees in the 2011-2012 academic year (gradation dates December 2011, May 2012 and August 2012) will be recognized for their academic achievements and professional potential. The ‘Founders Award’ is for the masters’ degree and the ‘Harriett B. Rigas Award’ is for the PhD degree. The purpose of this recognition is to honor those who have demonstrated that women can have an impact on academics, science and society. Graduate students who have excelled in their field of study and/or whose scholarly work promises to have an impact on promoting the achievement of women are eligible for these awards. Both full and part-time students are eligible. Please send the name of the nominated student and their email address to Nancy Magnuson (magnuson@wsu.edu). She will in turn contact the nominee and provide instructions for completing the nominations packet. Completed packets with materials and support letters are due Friday, February 24, 2012.
